  36.     
  37.     This file will help you to install and configure the 
  38.     ELSA DESKman.
  39.         
  40.     ELSA DESKman helps you to control multiboard characteristics
  41.     with ELSA graphiccards. For example you can resize the window
  42.     size to one monitor etc. With this tool you will be able to
  43.     divide applications into two or more screens.

  47.     The directory with the ELSA DESKman for Windows NT

  60. 2    Installation

  62.     NOTE     This programm was designed to work properly with
  63.          Windows NT 4.0 in multi board use.
  64.     
  65.     For ELSA DESKman is not going to be installed within the installation
  66.     of WINtools, it is necessary to    install it manually in multi board use. 
  67.     The installation can be done easily and quickly.
  68.  
  69. 2.1    Manual installation from CD
  70.     
  71.     Use Windows NT-Explorer to change to your CD-ROM drive, go to the 
  72.     according directory of your graphic card and to Winnt40\I386\Deskman.
  73.     Click once with the right mouse button on the file Deskman.inf and once
  74.     again with the left mouse button on the "install" option.

  76. 2.2    Program start
  77.  
  78.     To start ELSA DESKman, reboot your system or run the file Deskman.exe
  79.     in your %SystemRoot\ELSAutil (e.g. C:\WINNT\ELSAutil). A small icon 
  80.     appears in the tray-taskbar. Click on it and you can see a pop-up menu,
  81.     where you can choose to configure ELSA DESKman or to get information 
  82.     about it.

  86. 3    Configuration option

  88. 3.1     How to configure the driver
  89.  
  90.     In the following the settings of ELSA DESKman for Windows NT will 
  91.     be explained. Changes can be done by using "Options" from the
  92.     DESKman pop-up menu.

  94. 3.2    What does DESKman do?
  95.  
  96.     - DESKman restricts the window size to one monitor, unless you 
  97.       expressly allow larger windows.
  98.     - A window that would normally be centered on the entire desktop 
  99.       is automatically centered on one of the monitors.
  100.     - A window that is not centered, but stretches over the border 
  101.       between two monitors, is moved entirely to the monitor which 
  102.       displayed the bigger part of the window.
  103.     - Full-screen applications are restricted to one monitor, unless 
  104.       specified otherwise.

  108. 4     Errors
  109.  
  110.     When using only one ELSA graphic card or two graphic cards without
  111.     multiboard option, you get the following error message with ELSA
  112.     DESKman:
  113.  
  114.     "You are not using ELSA MULTIman or a virtual screen. You do not 
  115.      need DESKman."
  116.       
  117.     In this case you should deinstall ELSA DESKman with 
  118.     CONTROL PANEL/SOFTWARE. Mark "ELSA DESKman" and click on the
  119.     "Add/Remove..." Button.
